Variable Speed Drive Technology

Energy awareness is a field above any other where Atlas Copco is the market leader. In response to market pressure Variable Speed Drive (VSD) type compressors has been a recent addition to many compressor manufactures portfolios.

Atlas Copco however were the first manufacturer to develop and pioneer this energy saving technology since 1994. Atlas Copco now offer a variable speed drive (VSD) as an option on most of their compressor range from 7kw upwards.

Typically up to 20% of a factories’ energy consumption is attributed to the operation of compressed air. An Atlas Copco variable speed drive VSD compressor could help you reduce your compressor energy consumption by up to 35% and in most cases will repay its purchase cost within 3 years through energy savings alone.

Energy Saving - A Step by Step Guide

Step One - I-Tracs

The Atlas Copco I-trac is a data logging equipment, linked to there software.  This takes 7 days to complete and is the crucial first step on the road to energy saving.  Once the I-trac has been fitted to your compressor (no down-time) we will then have a accurate reading for exactly how much compressed air you use on site over a week long period.

Step Two - Solution and Savings

Once we have downloaded the data from the I-tracs we can then apply Atlas Copco’s software simulation to your companies profile.  This will not only provide us with THE most efficient compressor to run your site but also reveal how much money you will save.

Step Three - Finance

With the solution agreed and the costings in place all thats left is the finance.  Now this is when the I-Trac can help once more.  The full report we generate is backed by the Carbon Trust, so when your applying for your interest free loan then all you need do is let Precision Pneumatics handle the whole process.
