Directors shortlisted for regional award

Knowsley based air compressor distributors Precision Pneumatics will represent their borough in a major regional competition next month.

The founding directors of Precision Pneumatics, Phil Hood and Julie Prescott, have been jointly shortlisted in the Business Services Entrepreneur category of the North West Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

Phil and Julie established the company in 1991 and have been the Atlas Copco Premier Distributor ever since. To this day, the company provides market leading air compressors, vacuum pumps oxygen and nitrogen generators and pneumatic solutions to businesses across the region. The business is not purely focussed on sales and also provides 24 hour compressor maintenance and servicing from its base in Knowsley Business Park.

The Awards are in their 15^th year and are split into 14 categories, across various business areas. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges including former Dragons’ Den star Rachel Elnaugh, Professor David Spicer, the Dean of the Business School at the University of Salford and Lisa Greenhalgh, Chief Operating Officer of MSIF.  The winners will be announced on 3^rd November at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa.

Responding to being shortlisted, Julie Prescott commented: “Phil and myself are honoured to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award in our 25^th year of running the company. Our business operates across the North West so we know how much entrepreneurial activity happens in the region.

“We have always been based in Knowsley and we are proud to represent the borough in the competition. If we are successful in the competition, we may inspire others to set up their own businesses, as we did.”
